(IT-)Project Manager

As Managing General Agency (MGA) for Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A., balticfinance Danmark A/S has authority to issue insurances and handle the tasks of an insurance company on behalf of the risk carriers.

With this Binding Authority Agreement balticfinance develops tailored insurance solutions with unique selling propositions that give our partners great competitive advantages. Our close connection to the decision-makers enables us to give a quick and flexible respond to individual inquiries.

These solutions are mainly sold through the existing network of national and international brokers and agencies. Together with these partners balticfinance is one of the leading providers of professional sports insurances in Europe with more than 1,000 insured players from the top leagues in football, handball and ice hockey.

The administration of the insurance policies incl. offers, invoices and cash collection is done by an inhouse-developed web-application, which is continuously developed.In order to implement all of these tasks in the best possible quality, we need you!

Your Tasks

  • Confident control of IT projects from requirement to rollout using agile project methods and tools
  • Implementation of qualified project reporting
  • Developing and continuously optimizing processes and standards
  • Ensure compliance with the key factors of time, budget and quality
  • Organizational and procedural support for internal and external customers in finding solutions

You have the following qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or studies in the field of computer science or economics
  • Experience with agile methods such as SCRUM, Kanban, Extreme Programming, etc.
  • Experience as an IT project manager
  • Ideally experience with the software Confluence / Jira, Xwiki etc.
  • Communication skills
  • Determination, solution and quality-oriented action
  • Passion for project management
  • Fluent German and English skills (Danish is an advantage)

Software Developer

balticfinance is an international service provider for insurance brokers with direct access to the world’s biggest market for specialty insurances – Lloyd’s of London. The administration of the insurance policies incl. offers, invoices and cash collection is done by an inhouse-developed web-application, for whose ongoing development we are in search of support. In a relaxed atmosphere we offer high self-responsibility as part of a small innovative team. With us, you get to know the interesting parts of the insurance industry.

In our IT team you’ll take care of a wide range of important and diverse tasks. As a fast growing company we are presented with many exciting and challenging projects. The biggest chunk of your time will be spent as follows:

  • analyse requirements of the business
  • design of the optimal solution in direct communication with the business
  • test driven development of the designed solutions in Java and JavaScript
  • coaching of the users

In addition to an open mind and the motivation to further develop an exciting company, the following qualifications are needed for this job:

  • Degree in or currently studying computer sciences
  • basic knowledge of Java or proficient in another object oriented language
  • experience in handling SQL databases (i.e. MSSQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • experience in Web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • you are aware of your own ignorance and have a constant drive to further develop your skill set (we regularly visit conferences)

If you’ve already tackled some of the following buzzwords, we would be thrilled:

  • version control with git
  • knowledge how an ORM works, especially Hibernate with Spring Data
  • web development with JQuery, vuejs, SPAs
  • web design (CSS, bootstrap, responsiveness, UX)
  • unit testing, integration testing, test driven development, maybe with JUnit, Mockito and/or Selenium
